About The Founder
Due to my hobbies, passions and career, I have been able to grow and solidify my own way of problem solving. I enjoy challenges that cause me to draw on brainstorming, thinking outside the box (pun intended), and the capabilities of those around me. I am a strong believer that these skills started in my childhood. The only toys I cared about were building toys. I created Lego cities, Lincoln Log camps, K’NEX machines taller than myself, and many others. In using the resources around me to bring my ideas to life I found an ability to think abstractly. As such, when I discovered cardboard sledding at Cardboard Hill in Chattanooga the ideas came flooding in. I took the coming months to dive into the world of cardboard, learning specifications, coatings, manufacturing processes and so much more. I finally had ideas settled and Sun Sleds purchased some of its first major tools: a laser cutter to create prototypes instantly and CAD software to facilitate design. After relearning some trigonometry, we started creating scale concepts and finally created the first full sized sleds.
In the future, we plan on incorporating Project Management, Engineering and Design concepts that are accessible to all ages. If you have any feedback, ideas or otherwise, please feel free to reach out to us using our Idea Submission or Support Form!
Happy Sledding,
Cameron Williams
